How to Send Money Locally Using eBesa Wallet?

Step-by-Step Guide
  1. Log in to Your eBesa Wallet
    • Open the eBesa App on your device.
    • Enter your 4-digit PIN to log in.
  2. Navigate to “Send Money”
    • On the home screen, tap on “Send Money” under the Top Services or Available Services section.
  3. Enter Recipient Details
    • Enter the recipient’s mobile number or Payment ALIAS.
    • Alternatively, you can:
      • Select a recipient from your Favourites or Recents list.
      • Scan the recipient’s QR code (if available).
  4. Enter the Amount
    • Enter the amount you wish to send (e.g., $50).
    • Add a remark (optional) to describe the purpose of the transaction (e.g., “food bill”).
  5. Review and Confirm
    • A note will appear explaining that the recipient will receive a Passcode/OTP to withdraw the money at the nearest eBesa agent or register the number on eBesa to receive the funds directly.
    • Tap “Continue” to proceed.
  6. Confirm the Transaction
    • Review the transaction details, including the recipient’s number and the amount.
    • Tap “Next” to confirm the transaction.
  7. Complete the Transaction
    • The recipient will receive a Passcode/OTP to access the funds.
    • If the recipient is an eBesa user, the money will be credited directly to their eBesa account.
  8. View Transaction Details
    • You can view the transaction details in your Statement or Transaction History.
    • The recipient can withdraw the money at an eBesa agent using the Passcode/OTP or use it directly if they have an eBesa account.
